Csaba Jevtic-Somlai will perform The Story of Our Journey at the Burton Barr Library in Phoenix. This 53-minute piece was commissioned through the In FLUX program sponsored by the City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture in 2020 and was virtually premiered that year. After several live performances, we are excited to present the work to the originally intended Phoenix community.

Guest saxophonist Drew Hosler will perform Six Sax Pieces in a recital on the College of Wooster campus.
Guest bassoonist Martin Van Klompenberg and I perform music, not together in duet but in a tag team of solo pieces. Musical themes focus on the one, whether it be the unique properties of various stones, feelings of isolation during the pandemic, expansions of the sound of one person through electronics, or the projection of the voices of individuals who fled their home countries in search of safety. When we take time to slow down, reflect, and observe, we find fascinating depth in the details, the Worlds Within the One.
This concert features the true premiere of Pa-Hay-Okee, Improvisations V, Improvisations VI, and two movements from The Story of Our Journey.
